The Senior Hub Grows to Meet a Growing Need
The Senior Hub is growing—because our senior population is growing. Today, we serve more older adults than at any time in our history, and demand for our services continues to rise. To meet this need, we are planning a major renovation of the remaining portion of our facility so we can fully utilize our space and better serve our community.
This transformative project will renovate 12,000 square feet and includes abatement of hazardous materials, installation of a new HVAC system, an elevator, and a fully handicap-accessible entrance. No levy funds can be used for this project, making community support essential. We must rely on generous donors like you; every gift, of any amount, truly matters.
This renovation aligns directly with our strategic plan to expand services, enhance accessibility, beautify the neighborhood, and strengthen The Senior Hub’s role as a foundational community entity serving older adults—today and for generations to come.
HEADLINE NEWS
Headlines alert us to the impact of the aging of America. The "age wave" is already here as over 10,000 Baby Boomers reach the age of 65 every single day. One quarter of today's 65-year-olds will live past the age of 90 and will experience many of their daily chores turning into insurmountable everyday challenges. These seniors already represent the fastest growing population segment in the U.S.
The Older American's Act (OAA) has been the primary piece of federal legislation supporting social and nutrition services of Americans age 60 and older since 1965.
OAA programs are vital for seniors who are at a significant risk of hunger, isolation, and losing their ability to live independently.
Title III of the OAA establishes a grant system to fund programs that address the unique needs of vulnerable seniors.
We urge you to contact your local representatives and ask them to support the dignity of our seniors by supporting full funding to the Older American's Act.
